This is Yagi. Yagi is an artist and also the boyfriend of my friend Satsuki. She didn't tell me any of this though so I slowly discover that Yagi travels around Europe doing art shows with his instructor, who is this Japanese guy who apparently (if I can understand Japanese correctly) was influential to Jackson Pollock. Or he's like the Japanese Jackson Pollock. Something to do with Jackson Pollock basically. More info on this later. He got back from the Ukraine last week doing a show there. Crazy performance/visual art installations where the art is in the act of making the art. Stuff like that. And lots of stuff made with yarn that looks like canvas. I'll follow up soon with some tangible info that you can read and see and digest and enjoy and LOVE.
I've really got to get some more details about all of this but it's quite interesting the people I've been running into around Osaka/Kobe/Kansai area.
