Fantastic music. I might need to go on over to Seoul and see if there is a scene there for this kind of stuff.

Boredoms in Kyoto

I think Eye really means it when he jumps and wails and screams. His old project Hanatarash wasn't really music at all; it was basically performance art. He almost killed himself doing that project, so something really resonates with me when I can see a guy like that perform live. And of course, if you add several drummers, 14 or so oddly tuned guitar necks and tables upon tables of electronic gadgetry, the stage is set for something magical to happen.
This is what was running through my head, albeit embellished with a nice dose of whiskey, upon entering the basketball courts of Kyoto Seika Daigaku. This gym would soon erupt with phased (like a phaser, not a period of time) waves of noise and percussion.
Alright, I am done with bullshit preteniousness narratives. I'll just posts some pictures and whatnot.

To start: this video is very important.

You might note there is a drummer on a platform in the crowd being carried around while soloing over Yoshimi and the others (they will remain nameless since I don't know their names).

Stage looked like this.
This is why gyms are awesome. Note the visuals.

"How do we define 'good' if we don't believe in God? God in his word, the Bible, tells us what's good and bad and right and wrong. If we are each ourselves defining what's good,

it's going to be a crazy world.

Boredoms this Saturday in Kyoto

http://www.kyoto-seika.ac.jp/1968+40/event/boredoms.html
Just sent in my request to get tickets. It's free. They are running it in a similar way as the Nike 88 Drummer BoaDrum event in LA last August. So if all goes according to planned I will receive my tickets in the mail shortly and will be hurrying up to Kyoto this Saturday with a few friends to let my ears bleed for a while. My excitement meanwhile boils over.

Pre-election vandalism...

After a drunken walk all the way back home from the moreno house on halloween, I saw a couple of free-speech hating zombie terrorists vandalizing the neighborhood. To my complete surprise, I woke up the next morning and saw this!

also... in another drunken stupor, I was drinking wine the other day when I realized that the bottle I was drinking out of was a No. 8 Merlot.... The tag said No 8 in big letters... meaning vote no on proposition eight... OK? good

Not bad wine for the price either ...

Music Clubs

This is the music club I joined at my school.
These are my friends Shingo and Tomo. They listen to fantastic music.

Minimal Techno by Konishi for the school festival.

Oshiri Penpenz is a psychedelic band from Osaka. The meaning translates to: ASS SPANKING (roughly). They are absolutely insane and make beautiful free jazz noise absurdity. The singer also induced a fountain of vomit and attempted to destroy part of the stage. It was interesting. I saw him naked too later, but I don't think he was aware. This is why my music club is awesome. They book noise shows on Saturday afternoons outside of the library during the university's annual festival--complete with grandparents and little children.

This is my friend Kawakami practicing before his DJ set in Kyoto. And here Kawakami joins his friend (DJ SPIKE!) at Club Whoopee's in Kyoto for an all-night hip hop show.
