I think Eye really means it when he jumps and wails and screams. His old project Hanatarash wasn't really music at all; it was basically performance art. He almost killed himself doing that project, so something really resonates with me when I can see a guy like that perform live. And of course, if you add several drummers, 14 or so oddly tuned guitar necks and tables upon tables of electronic gadgetry, the stage is set for something magical to happen.
This is what was running through my head, albeit embellished with a nice dose of whiskey, upon entering the basketball courts of Kyoto Seika Daigaku. This gym would soon erupt with phased (like a phaser, not a period of time) waves of noise and percussion.
Alright, I am done with bullshit preteniousness narratives. I'll just posts some pictures and whatnot.
To start: this video is very important.
video027.3gpYou might note there is a drummer on a platform in the crowd being carried around while soloing over Yoshimi and the others (they will remain nameless since I don't know their names).

Stage looked like this.

This is why gyms are awesome. Note the visuals.

"How do we define 'good' if we don't believe in God? God in his word, the Bible, tells us what's good and bad and right and wrong. If we are each ourselves defining what's good,
it's going to be a crazy world.

Just sent in my request to get tickets. It's free. They are running it in a similar way as the Nike 88 Drummer BoaDrum event in LA last August. So if all goes according to planned I will receive my tickets in the mail shortly and will be hurrying up to Kyoto this Saturday with a few friends to let my ears bleed for a while. My excitement meanwhile boils over.
